What Is a Saucepan Used for in Cooking?

Stainless Steel Saucepans are typically used for whisking, gravies, risotto, boiling water, and other sauce-based dishes. Nonstick saucepans are good for rice and other dishes that might otherwise stick to your cookware.

What Is a Saucepan vs. Skillet?

While both are stainless steel cookware, and are pots and pans, a Saucepan typically has straight edges that is great for use on the stovetop. A frying pan, or skillet, has low edges and is better for frying and high heat cooking. Both are essential to any cookware set.

Saucepans are among the most common styles of Cookware, used daily by home cooks and professional chefs alike. They’re immediately recognizable for their small circumference, tall and straight edges, long handle, and tight fitting lids. What Is the Difference between a Saucepan and a Pot?

The main difference between a Saucepan and a Stock Pot is that a Saucepan is much smaller. Be sure to look at construction as well. While our products are 5-ply, some are made from a lesser quality, compared to competitors like all-clad, calphalon premier, kitchenaid, le creuset, greenpan, and cuisinart, which make theirs from a lower quality tri-ply or multiclad construction.
